High costs sink Performance Lab bar

Performance Lab has canned its Nu:tropic bar, citing high production costs as the culprit that killed the product.

“Post-pandemic, the prices of fuel, distribution and raw materials have skyrocketed,” the company said in an email to customers regarding the Performance Lab bar. The high costs made the sourcing of “premium-grade, specialist ingredients prohibitively expense,” Performance Lab said.

And, red tape created by Brexit also made worldwide distribution “10x more difficult,” the company wrote.

Peformance Lab had similar issues in 2015 with its Mind Lab Pro plant-based nootropic brain supplement. “A decade on it has been scientifically proven to work – in just 30 days,” the company said. Mind Lab Pro by Performance Lab partner Opti-Nutra is available at Amazon.

Research and development, sourcing, manufacture, marketing and distribution make creating products expensive, Performance Lab said. But it didn’t rule out a reappearance of the Nu:tropic bar, telling readers  they would be “first to hear” when the product is reintroduced.
